I have WAY more than three songs on my favorite play list, but I guess I'd have to say that 20/20 by George Benson, Drops of Jupiter by Train, and I'm A Bee by Black Eyed Peas are my top choices.

Thanks so much for doing this contest. I love it!

I've wanted those exact earrings.

So, here goes......There is nothing as necessary on a rainy MOnday morning like this as a 'happy playlist', it is the only thing that helps drag my tired behind into the office.

My picks are Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas, 3 by Britney, and Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Star Ship.
Please, please pick me!

Sitting here at work, my iPod is sometimes my only friend & companion! I definitely have specific songs that'll help get me through the day.

First, I put on Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. It's a song about Duke Ellington and it's so soulful and funky. A definite reminder that their is rhythm and music outside of this dull office.
After Stevie funks it out, I immediately switch gears to something a little softer. Your Song by Elton John is maybe the most beautiful love song ever written. Simple chords and melody become a symphony when that song plays in my headphones.
Paradise City by Guns & Roses is my last choice. After those much more melodic tunes, it's my turn to rock! The guitar solos shred, and it's just such a ripping song!

Well, those would be my three picks! They definitely help me get through every singly work day, and transport me to a different place!

The earrings are beautiful! Hope my picks make the grade!

It is so tough to pick just three songs, but I think there are a few i can highlight. :o)

Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall." When things get you down, "gotta leave that 9 to 5 up on the shelf, & just enjoy yourself."

Classic rock band Boston's "Peace of Mind" makes me smile & dance around my apartment :oD

If you have seen the movie Dumb & Dumber, you know they have grungy-90s rock music - it's great. The song "New Age Girl" by Dead Eye Dick is my favorite on the soundtrack! I love the catchy rockin' beat & funny lyrics.

I'd have to go with: Heart of the Matter (Don Henley), Like a Prayer (Madonna) and Take Me Home Tonight (Eddie Money)

My go-to playlist consists of Echoes by Pink Floyd, Wrong 'Em Boyo by The Clash (the only band that ever mattered) & No Quarter by Led Zeppelin.

These tunes put me in the mood to rock. I listen to them everyday and rock the time away.

Wow, just thinking back to how many songs have made me dance, made me cry & made my heart dance to the beat, I had to think & choose the only 3 that make me smile the most..
-"Tomorrow" Annie the musical.
Brian & I sang & danced to this song so many times while jumping on my bed. I miss those days!
-"Jail House Rock"- Elvis
I grew up watching my dad sing & dance to all of Elvis' songs but this one takes me back to that little girl that would sit & watch dad dance with his shirt collar up.
" From this moment" - Shania Twain.
My favorite make me happy song from recent years for obvious reasons..my hubby!!

So those are my 3....Good luck to me!!

My three current go to songs are:

PUT A RING ON IT -- Beyonce -- It's a girl power song and my three year old and I learned the dance from youtube

I GOT A FEELING (TONIGHT'S GONNA BE A GOOD NIGHT) -- Black Eyed Peas I imagine I am Fergie-licious even though I am on line at preschool pick-up

NOT GONNA WRITE YOU A LOVE SONG -- Sara Bareilles for SOOO many reasons!

But the go-to list changes all the time, just like being a mom!

Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. if that song doesn't make you smile you need a lot of medication!

Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da by the Beatles
It ends with, "If you wanna have fun ... take Ob la Di La Da."

Sweet Baby James -- James Taylor. I'm sorry if that song doesn't make you smile something is seriously wrong!

Frank's Wild Years - Tom Waits
Watermelon Man - John Hendricks
The Stroke - Billy Squire

No need to choose me as the best songs. For one...it's too obvious my three song playlist rules, for another, I don't wear earrings (in public).

Love,
Your Favorite Cousin, Jonathan

ps. I'll alert all of OC about your blog and contest.

My three favorite go-to songs when choosing a play list would definitely include Billy Joel, Phish & The Who!

I need to encompass all genres, and mix it up as best I can. The Who is legendary rock & roll. I'd pick Won't Get Fooled Again (which tracks in at around 8 minutes long. Picking this one is a trying to get my money's worth).

Next, I'd pick Summer Highland Falls by Billy Joel because the piano is basically classical music set to a rock beat, and it might be the prettiest song ever written.

Lastly, I'd pick You Enjoy Myself by Phish because it's a jazz & prog opus that typically clocks in at around 20 minutes long. So many amazing composed portions of this song follow one another to create a blend of jazz & funk that has never been recreated!!!

So I finally have a minute to submit my list of songs. Here goes:

1. Build Me Up Buttercup - The Foundations. No explanation - just a visual: your middle-aged, slightly overweight cousin, perhaps an accountant, singing his heart out at your last family wedding, "Why do you build me up (build me up) buttercup baby just to let me down (let me down)..."

2. Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond. Same visual as #1 above, only it's later in the evening, your cousin is sweating, high-kicking and singing, "reachin' out, touchin' me, touchin' you! Sweet Caroline..." Embarrassing.

3. Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Because I get a tingle when it goes from the slow "You're just too good to be true; Can't take my eyes off of you" to the faster "I love you baby and if it's quite all right I need you baby to warm the lonely nights." See? It just happened.

That's my list - hope it makes you smile, too.
